Easter break was good. I feel refreshed and after a week back I'm still feeling refreshed. Didn't go anywhere over the break. Instead, stayed in Croydon, a frightening prospect in many ways... Chelsea it is not. But...

I golfed three times, played in a hockey tournament, and took up squash. I also drank beer on the odd occasion at the odd pub, as one does after an afternoon of sport and sunshine. Yes, the weather has been not too bad. Not great, but not bad. It's fantastic how late the sun stays out now. Was at the park with some friends Saturday and we all felt as though the day lasted forever. We were out by 10 am, doing a bit of shopping in Croydon, and by noon it felt as if we had accomplished a lot. And we had the whole day still ahead of us!

Actually had quite the full weekend. Friday we got about twelve of the staff out for St George's Day drinks. (St. George is the patron saint of England It's a very patriotic holiday). The good thing about going out for St George's Day drinks is the specials... we were drinking 1£ bottles of Carlsberg, some of the girls were drinking 1£ fizzy vodka spritzer things. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, they encourage alcoholism in this country. It's crazy. Afterwards, a bunch of us went back to Winnie and Scott's for drinks, kind of under the pretense that it was to celebrate Scott's birthday. What Scott didn't know, was that Winnie had already planned a surprise dinner for Saturday.

All morning and afternoon Saturday, Winnie, Holly and I were constantly whispering when Scott was out of the room or away for a bit. We stole his beer and wine right from under his nose to get it to the restaurant. We had vague stories about what we were doing that evening and how it was a good thing anyway, as Winnie and Scott would have a nice quiet dinner together. We figured he had to know something was up, but no. He was completely surprised. Thankfully for us, Scotty (his own words), just ain't that bright.

The dinner was at a Malaysian restaurant in Addiscombe called the Malay House. Great food. They let you bring in your own alcohol. It's all good. Afterwards, surprise surprise, it was back to Winnie and Scott's.

Sunday, Mike, Holly, Nick and I joined some other staff for paintball. It was a student activity for our year eleven prefects. It was a great time, the kids loved shooting at the teachers, the teachers loved shooting at the kids. And then afterwards, BBQ at Mike's place, just teachers.

This week at work will be a heavy one again... we're having a follow up inspection at the school tomorrow, but chances are I will not be observed. They are focussing on IT and Science, mostly. But, as always, I'm behind on my coursework. And our department needs to have samples of our marking for comparison, I guess to make sure we are being consistent. So, I need to get my year seven and eight books marked up to date by Wednesday. Aaargh. Our year nines write their SATS exams next week, our year tens wrote their mock GCSE exams this week, so they will have to be marked. Year ten reports are coming up soon, as well. But so is year ten work experience and our year elevens leave soon, so the workload will lighten a fair bit soon. Anyway, enough about work.

Actually, I think that's enough. Period.

Except: Go Habs go!
